I am back!

It has been too long!  I need to continue you this blog for my purpose, my family's journal. I don't know who checks it any more. But I will be posting more often. I may go private in the future and I may not. Any thoughts on that?

Our life will be taking a change here next month so I will post on that soon!

a new recipe

I made this yummy new recipe this last week. It was a hit! Even with an extremely picky little eater! I saw it in here. One of my favorites to turn to when I need an idea.

I am not liking meal time right now. Mckinly is sooo picky. I actually despise meal time. Everytime meal time comes around I am thinking, "what should I try this time?" "Will she try it or will she be shaking her head no at me and I will be picking it up off the floor." I swear there are days I wonder if she even ate anything.

Friday night while Darren and I were at dinner just finishing up by putting Mckinly's untouched mac and cheese in a to-go box, we overheard an older gentleman sitting by us say to his companions at his table, "well I have never seen anyone kid NOT like macaroni and cheese!" Yes you are right, that is my daughter!

If anyone has any tips please pass them my way! Link

Thanks for coming...

A couple of weeks ago we had a fun visit with uncle Tyson. My brother had some vacation time so he decided to fly out. We had a great time with him. I don't remember the last time him and I have spent that much time together. It was a lot of fun. Kinly loves her uncle Tyson. Thanks Tys for coming and visiting!

New year...

I haven't been on the computer for so long! I got an Ipad for Christmas so that has taken over my time. Another wonderful Christmas gift that my sweet hubby gave me was my blog printed off into a book. It was so great to see all of our life's happenings in the last 4 years put all together. With that said, I am extremely behind on my blog (journal).

As we were driving home from Utah after the Christmas holiday, Darren and I had a talk about how awesome 2011 was. We were sad to see it leave. It will always be a very memorable year in the Neilson household. Some of our highlights were.......

1. Darren taking and passing the BAR
2. Going to Hawaii to celebrate Darren's taking of the BAR
3. Darren starting his job
4. Darren passing the BAR
5. Me actually starting a Pilates class and sticking with it! (this one is big, since I am so sacred to take classes)
6.Our favorite one of all, watching our sweet Mckinly make huge milestones in her life. Enjoying her fun personality and, for me being able to stay at home with her everyday! I am so extremely lucky for that!

We are excited to see what 2012 has in store for us. Happy New Year!!!

Here are a few pictures of our holidays!

Santa

This is our new tradition, as long as we live in L.A., we will visit the Santa at the Grove. We went last year and Mckinly loved him so much that they took a nap with each other. This year not so much. She was hysterical!! From the moment she first saw him. I kinda feel bad. I would be too if my parents left me in a strangers lap.

This Santa has done this for 10 years. He is there for a month and a half straight. No one else. Just him. He is such a great Santa! Love him!

Lovin Christmas

Kinly is loving all of the Christmas decorations! I love seeing her eyes light up when she sees all of the decorations for the first time. It is truly magical. Even though she is really young I have started the Elf on the Shelf book. Every morning when she wakes up I have Mckinly in my arms I ask her where is the Elf? She will look in a certain spot and shake her head no until she finds it. When she finds it she is so excited! It is the best thing ever! She is at such a fun stage right now. Christmas time is amazing with kids around. They make it magical.

On Mckinly's birthday we were able to have my good friend Julie Burton take some family pictures. I love how they turned out. It is such a wonderful way to capture precious moments in our lives! Here are a few of them!

Yes, picture overload! It is always so hard to choose. Thanks again Julie!! It was a fun way to spend her birthday!
